A Cooperation Agreement between the British Hispanic Foundation (FHB), the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and the British Council.
Founded in 1993 under the patronage of the Royal Household. It is held annually.
We organize the trip and stay of a prestigious professor from a UK university, who is invited to come to Madrid three times during the academic year, to lead a course at the UCM for doctoral or postgraduate students. The professor, apart from teaching activities, offers three public lectures coinciding with each of his stays. The courses have an average of 30 students and the conferences of about 120 attendees..
At the end of the academic year, the British Council presents the “Reina Victoria Eugenia” Chair Award, which consists of a research grant at a prestigious university in the United Kingdom.
The Chairs are dedicated to very diverse areas of knowledge: from Economic and Business Sciences, Political Sciences and Sociology; to Philosophy, Law, Geography and History, Philology, Information Sciences and Fine Arts; to Biology, Medicine, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences and Mathematical Sciences; a Veterinary, Odontology, Computer Science or Documentation.
